AdmissionsIf you are seeking an alternative school setting for your child, Mardan School accepts students for private enrollment. Mardan has a policy of limited enrollment and selective admissions, recognizing that there is a specific range of students best served by our program. Students may be accepted into the program at most times throughout the school year as permitted by openings in a given class. For more information about our program and services, we encourage you to attend one of our information sessions. Mardan will hold 3 to 4 general information sessions per year, with details of upcoming sessions listed on our home page. Scholarship funds may be available to assist families with tuition costs if they demonstrate a financial need. The family may submit a scholarship application once it is determined that Mardan has an appropriate opening and can meet the child's needs. Placement By Public School DistrictMardan is certified by the state Department of Education as an approved non-public school. In some cases, Mardan may accept students who have been directly referred from public school districts if it has been determined they are not able to provide a program that can meet the student's unique needs. Mardan will not, as a policy, allocate any staff time or provide tuition assistance (access to "scholarship funds") that may be interpreted as supporting litigation actions by a family against a local school district for the sole purpose of funding a placement at Mardan. GENERAL ADMISSIONS PROCESSAdmission of new students is determined by the Program Director in consultation with other program staff. The admissions process is generally as follows:
